Burials in Mt Hebron Cemetery

http://www.mounthebroncemetery.com/search.asp

Mt. Zion Cemetery--They will take a digital photograph for you, print it out
on photographic paper to about a 3 1/2 x 5 size and mail it out to you by
regular mail. All for only ten dollars. Contact Karen in the cemetery office
at kareng@mountzioncemetery.com .

Montefiore Cemetery--There are two--the older one, names simply Montefiore
Cemetery
is in Springfield Gardens, NY. The newer one, New Montefiore
Cemetery
is in  Pinelawn, NY. Both share the same website address:
www.montefiores.com . At Montefiore Cemetery they will charge you $7.50 per
photo and will mail it to you by regular mail. You can try contacting them
through their web site or call them for more details. At the New Montefiore
Cemetery
they will charge you $10 per photo. I believe they prefer that you
call them first so they can check their computer to confirm the burial. Then
you'll send them a check for the proper amount, they will photograph the
matzevot for you and mail it to you by regular mail.

Riverside Cemetery (New Jersey)--They have a web site--
www.riversidecemetery.org . According to the woman I spoke to, they will
take a matzeva photo for you at no charge (Polaroid, I believe) and send it
to you by regular mail. You can contact them through their website or by
calling them.

Cedar Park and Beth-El Cemeteries (New Jersey)--They too have a
website--www.cedarparkbethelcemeteries.com . They too will take a photograph
for you at no charge and send it to you by regular mail. Call them or write
them to request a photograph.

Beth David Cemetery (Elmont, NY)--They have no website, but will take a
photo for you, when they can, free of charge and mail it to you. It's best
to telephone them to make your request.

You might find it useful to visit my website's "Cemetery Project,"
accessible through the Site Map link, at www.museumoffamilyhistory.com .

I hope that I have been of help.

NEW ORLEANS OBITS

For anyone doing research in New Orleans the following websites are very
helpful. Both the library and volunters for the USgenweb project have worked
on indexing obits for New Orleans - both are incomplete and ongoing projects
but between the two you will find the date of obits for many years. The
library site provides date of death as well as page number and sometimes
spouse. Both may include maiden name.

You may then order obits from the library at two dollars per obit with a
citation and three without. See their website for additional information.
